This is an opportunity to be part of the crew that keeps Shenandoah Valley Golf Club’s highly ranked golf course, looking and playing great.
In this position, you will help prepare, maintain, and/or repair tees, cups, traps, greens, roughs, fairways, bunkers, and involves the use of hand tools, weed-eaters, fly-mowers, mowing equipment, fertilizer spreaders, and other maintenance tools. Work is performed under supervision, according to specific instruction given by management staff and/or course Superintendent.
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 17 years of age
- Knowledge of and/or ability to learn about the care and proper use of tools and equipment used in the development and maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, hazards, and general grounds of a golf course
- Ability to quickly learn maintenance, care, and construction of greens, tees, fairways, hazards, bunkers, irrigation systems, and general grounds of a golf course
- Knowledge of and/or the ability to learn about the rules of golf

SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the safe operation of any equipment used
- Perform routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance and construction
- May sit, stand, stoop, climb ladders and walk for long periods of time
- Clean, maintain, and service equipment
- Cut grass with power equipment and hand tools
- Loads and unloads dirt, gravel, sand and debris
- Pick up trash on the golf course, in the maintenance building, and on the clubhouse grounds
- Communicate effectively with other employees in the maintenance department and pro shop area
- Operate various hand tools, including but not limited to, weed eater, backpack sprayer, backpack blower and water hose

Serves food and beverage products to members and guests visiting the Grill Room, creating a great customer experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

· Greets members and guests and responds to all questions and concerns and offering assistance when needed.
· Assists members and guests in food and beverage selection by describing special offerings or menu changes, answering food preparation questions, recording member/guest selections, and upselling where possible, relaying orders to kitchen or preparing food directly, identifying any special requests and keying orders into register.
· Delivers completed orders to customers providing appropriate accompaniments or garnishes, ensuring that all orders meet proper presentation and quality standards, packaging take-out orders as needed, dispensing, or preparing beverages including alcoholic beverages (following proper procedures)
· Calculates bills and collects payment from guests or tickets from members using POS system.

· Provides members and guests with efficient food service by maintaining attractively merchandised
display foods, clean tables, counters, dishes, chairs, floors and equipment, sufficient levels of inventory in storage rooms and refrigerators, proper temperatures in refrigerators and coolers, proper safety, sanitation, and food handling standards.
· Maintains an efficiently run Grill Room by communicating with management, supply shortages and customer requests/comments, monitoring daily play on the course or upcoming events which might affect operations.

- Greet customers, answer the telephone courteously, and complete sales transactions.
- Complete golf course reservations including reserving and scheduling tee times.
- Manage inbound tee times using exceptional communication skills and POS.
- Assist golfer with all aspects of golf, including tee off and utilizing the GHIN (handicap) computer system to post scores.
- Perform shift opening and closing duties as assigned.
- Manage sales of golf and merchandise using POS system-communicating specials, promotions, and events with customers clearly and enthusiastically.
- Ensure merchandise is kept neat, attractively displayed, and sufficiently stocked.

Responsible for supervising mowing and gardening operations for the golf course and facilities projects. Ensuring all assigned maintenance tasks are carried out correctly, efficiently, and safely.
